Ben poses the question to the previous two essays; what explanation might we find of WD Gann referring, apparently, to a non existent book of the Bible, Naomi? For convenience, the reference to the Biblical character is found on page 128 of "The Tunnel Thru the Air" and is:
My first thought was, like in other places in "The Tunnel Thru the Air," Mr. Gann makes intentional errors to call attention to a very important thought. For example, he misspells the word "Mammouth" in referring to the 110-story Mammouth Building. 110-stories, tallest building in NYC, known as the cedar (reminiscent of Isaiah 9/10-11, the sycamore, the stones have fallen....), focus of the fictional great attack of 1932 on New York City. [If Mr. Gann's prophecy of 9/11 interests you and you have not read the "6th Manifest Prophecy" you can find it HERE.] Use of intentional errors is a technique of Philo of Alexander, a primary philosopher whose rules of enigma are thought to have influenced Mark, Luke and the writer of Revelation (see HERE and rule 19 regarding intentional errors). I find many of those rules used in TTTTA, misspelling being only the simplest of them.
"In Naomi" suggests there is a "Book of Naomi" in the Bible and, as Ben points out, there isn't such a book. Rule 19 of Philo's rules of enigma; intentional error. Being very Bible illiterate, I tried to refresh my memory of the Book of Naomi and was reminded of my pathetic Bible background when I didn't find it.
Why Naomi? Was it the story of Naomi's loss of family, her travels with Ruth, return to her home and redemption? I don't think so. It seems like entirely superfluous information in the context of the page...Rule 2 of Philo's rules of enigma.
I propose 4 purposes of Naomi (aside from the goodness of the story itself):
First, the obvious. It was a means to focus the reader on this paragraph.
Second, once attention is focused on the riddle of Naomi's placement, the paragraph itself, point blank, tells the reader there is a prophecy; "Notice this prophecy." And the prophecy would seem to be twofold; first a bridge that opens our rivers and then second a suspension bridge that opens our rivers. This discussion takes place in association with the year 1989 which can be seen in the right most dates above. This is all explained in the immediately previous two essays. How awkward; the story of Naomi's Biblical struggle, then a "Notice of Prophecy." The latter, a striking statement of fact, again Rule 20 of Philo's rules of enigma.
Third, and this is what just struck me; "Naomi" is an anagram for Minoa. That great page 77 of TTTTA which declares Mr. Gann's methods are mathematic science fused with the Biblical concept that history repeats. I provide two of the paragraphs of that page for convenience:
As proof that history repeats, Mr. Gann cites "The Palace of Minos" which is of the ancient Mediterranean island Minoan civilization. Minoa...again, the people of the country of Minoa, an anagram of Naomi. Does the, apparently superfluous story of Naomi seem to have some greater purpose now? Of course, only if you do not negate it as "just a coincidence."
A fourth and more troubling purpose; not just to tell us of two earthquakes, one that has manifested in the 1989 Lomo Prieta earthquake and one that may occur in late February 2016. Perhaps Naomi/Minoa suggests the scope of the latter prediction; that unknown fate which befell the Minoan civilization.
[As an aside, the acrostic and telestic words that are spelled in the second insert are incredible. We have "toa," "SAET,""two," and "sees." The acrostic "two" and "sees" have highly subjective meaning and I have my ideas on them that aren't worth explanation because of that subjectivity. But "toa" and "SAET;" now those are specific.
Remember your high school geometry; "TOA" or "Tangent = Opposite over Adjacent." Math is the only science Mr. Gann tells us. I find "TOA" encoded at other places in TTTTA and suspect it defines a mathematical structure within the mapping of lines in TTTTA. I have yet to define that geometric structure.
And SAET. The "3rd Manifest Prophecy" as I have defined 7 prophecies at present, is World War II. Moreover, one of the three themes of TTTTA is war (love and spirit are the other two in my conception). And one of the greatest weapons of WWII was the Germanb undersea boat with their torpedoes. Very shortly after the end of WWII, Russia developed the SAET 50 and 60 passive acoustic honing torpedo which became the successor Russian 53-59 series. Before the 53-59 series was created and the SAET 50 and 60 series was retired, I recall a discussion that indicated the SAET 100 was in planning but scrapped. The acrostic "SAET" is followed by "C," the Roman numeral for 100. As yet a further aside, Russia has developed (1990s) a torpedo (Shkval) capable of speeds to 200 MPH based on the dynamics of supercavitation propulsion that are theorized to be the cause of ships lost in the Bermuda Triangle (see HERE).]
